Week 12

This week I have gathered some images together for my final portfolio piece. I will get model if not all of the aeroplane modeled over the Christmas break. 

This is the sort of damage I would like to try and model into 3D aircraft. 

This is part of what my final scene should look like, an aeroplane crash in the mountains. Only I will have much more rubble and luggage falling out of the aircraft. 

I like this scene because it seems very much abandoned. It also has the kind of rubble I will be going for and again is set within the mountains. 

Week 2

This week I started my concept art for my main character.

I decided to attempt making some form of wreckage air craft along with an android robot for my final scene idea. I will sketch out my idea along with the character concept, front view side view and back view. Once I have done this I will upload the scanned images into these file.

Week 10

I also attempted to use 123d catch by auto desk. Here is my first attempt, It would have been more successful if there had been consistent lighting and if I had taken a few more photos closer together. I will re do this at a later date and show the second results. 

Week 10 - I was asked to draw these following images using the reference images on uni learn. Here are both of my attempts.

Week 9

Week 9 -
This week I have been given a 30 minute drill to draw a picture of either a landscape or portrait. I chose the portrait as this was a new challenge for me as I have never really focussed on drawing people. I needed to make sure that the face was of a correct proportion and I think I managed is very well from drawing faint lines.

Week 8

Portfolio piece 

Now I have fully edited and sculpted my terrain to how I like it, I will now get it textured.

After UDK near enough killing my PC last night, I re-did my terrain on my iMac instead. This is how it turned out.

Today (22/11/2013) I have started creating my terrain for my portfolio piece. I have done this in UDK after watching a simple 3D Motive tutorial. 

So far my terrain looks like this. 

I will smooth it out more and add more detail to my terrain and I will also add some lighting too. 

Week 7

Portfolio Milestone

Within the next four weeks I plan to create three 3D portfolio pieces of work. I will be using 3DS Max and UDK. I will model a Plane, Mountains (scenery) and finally a small game scene.

I will create all of these to eventually build in with the final environment (game scene)

I will stick to a certain limit of polys –

Plane – 10,000 polys.

Mountains – (as many polys as needed)

Small game scene - (within 10,000 polys.)

Week 1 – In week 1 I will start creating my 3D models. I may create a mixture of 3DS Max and UDK 3D models. I will make sure I have all of the models finished within 15 days

Week 2 – In week 2 I will start to unwrap all of my 3D models.  This will take me to the start of week 3 (6^th December.)

Week 3 – In week 3 I will start to texture my 3D models. This will carry on until the 10^th December.

Week 4 – In week 4 I will finish up on tiny details and make sure all of my assets look the best they can.

All of these will be completed by the 19^th December. 

Week 6

We have been asked to do three drawings of buildings around Huddersfield. Here are my three.

I spent an hour on mine and my final result looks like this.

Week 5

This week I have been given a task to re-create this image. 

Here is my attempt. I used various tools and layer masks in Pohotoshop CS6 to achieve my final result.

                                       I also tried to use my own images for to create a matte painting and this is the result.

                   

I also had to create a scene similar to the one below, using 3DS Max, Maya or UDK. I chose to use 3DS Max and used some of the built in textures, as well as textures from CG Textures.com. 

 

I then had to add lighting and this is how my final render turned out.           

Week 4

This week I was put to the test to build a model in 3ds max/UDK and uv unwrap, texture it and print screen it.

                                            Here is my attempt. I modeled this within UDK in an hour and I used the textures within UDK.

This is the original image that we had to re-create within an hour. 

Week 3

This week I have done some tiling textures, created an alpha leaf and I have also managed to model a building that was set in class.
