Week 8

Portfolio piece 

Now I have fully edited and sculpted my terrain to how I like it, I will now get it textured.




After UDK near enough killing my PC last night, I re-did my terrain on my iMac instead. This is how it turned out.



Today (22/11/2013) I have started creating my terrain for my portfolio piece. I have done this in UDK after watching a simple 3D Motive tutorial. 

So far my terrain looks like this. 



I will smooth it out more and add more detail to my terrain and I will also add some lighting too.

Week 7

Portfolio Milestone

Within the next four weeks I plan to create three 3D portfolio pieces of work. I will be using 3DS Max and UDK. I will model a Plane, Mountains (scenery) and finally a small game scene.

I will create all of these to eventually build in with the final environment (game scene)

I will stick to a certain limit of polys –
Plane – 10,000 polys.
Mountains – (as many polys as needed)
Small game scene - (within 10,000 polys.)

Week 1 – In week 1 I will start creating my 3D models. I may create a mixture of 3DS Max and UDK 3D models. I will make sure I have all of the models finished within 15 days

Week 2 – In week 2 I will start to unwrap all of my 3D models.  This will take me to the start of week 3 (6th December.)

Week 3 – In week 3 I will start to texture my 3D models. This will carry on until the 10th December.

Week 4 – In week 4 I will finish up on tiny details and make sure all of my assets look the best they can.


All of these will be completed by the 19th December.

Week 6

We have been asked to do three drawings of buildings around Huddersfield. Here are my three.

I spent an hour on mine and my final result looks like this.

Week 5

This week I have been given a task to re-create this image. 





Here is my attempt. I used various tools and layer masks in Pohotoshop CS6 to achieve my final result.





                                       I also tried to use my own images for to create a matte painting and this is the result.
                   
I also had to create a scene similar to the one below, using 3DS Max, Maya or UDK. I chose to use 3DS Max and used some of the built in textures, as well as textures from CG Textures.com. 
 

I then had to add lighting and this is how my final render turned out.
